How to Prepare a Pet Photo for a Memorial Video

By river · Updated 21 October 2026

A useful starting point is one clear photo of one pet, with its face and distinctive markings visible. A quiet, familiar expression often says more than an elaborate scene.

Choose the photo you would want to remember

Look for even light, visible eyes, and enough detail around the ears, muzzle and coat. Keep the whole animal in frame when possible. A plain background makes it easier to distinguish your pet from nearby objects. Avoid heavy filters, blurred faces and screenshots with text over the animal.

You do not need a newly taken photograph. Keep the original file and work with a copy. Our private upload form accepts PNG or JPEG files up to 5 MB. Use a photo you own or have permission to use, containing one pet and no real people. Remove addresses, documents and other private information before uploading.

If you are choosing between two favorites

Open copies of the photos side by side at the same display size. First set aside any image that does not meet the checks above. From the remaining options, choose the expression that feels most familiar to you, and keep the other file as a backup. If neither is suitable, keep both originals and look through your older photos. This is a way to choose a source photo, not a prediction of the video's likeness.

Plan a small story

Think of a tribute as a few gentle moments: an arrival, a pause, and a peaceful place to rest. Our original concept uses a welcoming gate, a quiet welcome station and a marigold garden. These are creative scenes for remembrance; a generated result may not contain every intended moment.

Choose the mood before adding detail. Warm light, a slow camera and a simple setting can leave room for the pet itself. We do not offer copied movie scenes, film characters, competitor footage or unlicensed music. The approved example on this site is silent.

Understand what AI can change

An AI video is an interpretation of the reference photo. It may change coat markings, face shape, movement, anatomy or the background. A successful example does not guarantee an exact likeness for another animal. Watch the complete result before sharing it and decide whether it feels right to you.

Our controlled test used original fictional pet artwork through RunningHub, with the provider endpoint labelled MiniMax H3 OSS. That test does not establish quality for every breed, species, photograph, duration or resolution. See what the public example shows and how it differs from the private test.

Know what happens to your files

Saving a photo in your account stores it privately; it does not start generation. Content review comes before any generation, and a completed video is held for review before delivery. The service is pet-only. Review the Acceptable Use Policy before uploading.

Private site media has a seven-day availability window. Download a copy promptly and store it somewhere you control. Account, security, payment and accounting records are separate from the media window. Provider storage is governed separately; see our Privacy Policy.

What is available today?
